REAL DEAL Heads to Africa

March 25th, 2015 Jessi Combs and Nicole Vaughn-Pitell will embark on an all female 9 day rally race through the deserts of Morocco. Without any GPS locating devices, they will plot their way with only 1960's hand drawn maps, plotters and a compass to compete in the infamous Rallye Aicha des Gazelles.

Every Gazelle, both amateur and professional alike, leaves this adventure forever changed after pushing herself to the limit, facing an environment that is a far reach from her challenging daily life as a woman, and sharing a sense of solidarity with her teammate and other Gazelles. You need talent, determination, courage, patience, and a sense of sharing to take part in the event. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Rallye. 300+ women from 24 countries will partake in the event.

Team #180 shipped a Total Chaos TRD equipped Toyota Tacoma from California to Spain, and will drive to the ferry into Morocco. They are beyond blessed with the opportunity to team up with title sponsor CRC having ECCO and Western Digital as secondary sponsors. Without the many other supporters such as King Shocks, Falken Tire, Warn Industries, DMZ Fab, MaxTrax, Baja Designs, KN&N, Nitro Gear, Suunto and REAL DEAL, this trip may not exist. "With this level of support, we can travel to the other side of the world, drive a serious event, and feel comfortable trusting our equpiment through to the finish line and home" says Combs. She sheepishly adds "The rest is simply making sure I navigate us in the straightest line possible and Nicole doesn't drive too fast... for hundreds and hindreds of kilometers through Africa".
